Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is a well-known American actress. She is most famously known for her role appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington, Ohio and dropped out of high school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. It was a struggle to get by when she got her first role in acting as Rachel's Room's lead character. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost in which she was a main character for the initial two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. After leaving the show, Grace was keen to work on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised her role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character on Lost for two more episodes, which included the series final. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season which ran between 2013 and 2014. She portrays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars, who catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. Being part of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the younger sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in films made by her father. She also was co-starring with her twin brother on Donnie Darko, a cult classic. In 2002, she was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. After a string of commercially successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew when she played Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In 2009, she was nominated as the Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. Her subsequent roles include Nanny McPhee and in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Her other roles include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in Frank (2014) and The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she received The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
